Three Port of San Diego tenant restaurant chefs competed for the title in a sustainable food cooking challenge. Using the latest energy-efficient equipment in a state-of-the-art commercial test kitchen at SDG&E’s Energy Innovation Center. A panel of distinguished judges awarded the honor of “Top Green Chef” to one of the executive chefs while members of The Green Business Network watched, mingled, and shared, green practices. The Green Business Network is an integrated energy efficiency and sustainability effort spearheaded by the Port of San Diego and San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E). Members of the Network which include Port tenant restaurants, marinas, hotels and attractions all striving to reduce their environmental impact by taking advantage of free technical assistance, attending monthly training on green business tactics, and sharing best practices with fellow businesses.
