The Maritime Museum of San Diego is doing its part to help conserve and preserve the environment and energy. As the newest member of The Port of San Diego’s Green Business Network, it’s getting advice from other Port tenants and SDG&E about best energy-efficient and green business practices. Phoebe Chongchua of Live Fit Magazine has the story of how The Maritime Musuem’s flagship, the Star of India, was brought to San Diego and continues to be maintained by authentic and environmentally-friendly practices.
Editor’s note: This segment made possible by SDG&E and The Port of San Diego’s Green Business Network. The Green Business Network is an integrated energy efficiency and sustainability effort spearheaded by the Port of San Diego and San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E). Members of the Network–which include Port tenant restaurants, marinas, hotels and attractions – strive to reduce their environmental impact by taking advantage of free technical assistance, attending monthly training on green business tactics, and sharing best practices with fellow businesses.
